Since 2010 the value of sustainability is a strategic pillar for the activity of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion (CNMI). Faced with the challenge of rethinking the future of the planet and of fashion, CNMI has chosen to focus on the highest standards in the social and environmental sustainability of industrial production, involving its members and other operators throughout the entire Italian fashion chain.
The sustainability is a particularly important issue for Italy, the world’s largest producer in the fashion sector, in terms of competitiveness and maintaining the positions acquired on the most important world markets. This is why CNMI designed and launched the Green Carpet Fashion Award in 2017, which immediately became the Oscar for sustainable fashion. An international event is connected to the award, culminating in the ceremony that takes place at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan: arrived at its fourth edition, the award presents major brands and top designers together with emerging designers, start-ups and innovative industrial projects in a major celebration of sustainable fashion at global level.
In the Italian National Pavilion CNMI presents two looks for each of the last three winners of the “Franca Sozzani GCC Award for Best Emerging Designer” within the Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italy. Visitors will be able to admire the creations of Tiziano Guardini, Gilberto Calzolari, Flavia La Rocca and Marco Rambaldi, the latter already known for several participations in the Milan Fashion Week calendar. This selection wants to underline once again the support for the new generations that characterizes the CNMI strategy, together with the attention to sustainability and the promotion of Made in Italy in the world.
